What is the difference between evaporative coating and magnetron sputtering?

Evaporation coating is to heat the target material so that the surface components are evaporated in the form of atomic groups or ions, and settle on the surface of the substrate to form a thin film through the film formation process (scattered point - island structure - vagus structure - layered growth).

The uniformity of the components of the evaporation coating is not very easy to guarantee, and the specific control factors are the same as above, but because of the limited principle, the uniformity of the components of the evaporation coating is not good for the non-single ancestor coating.

Sputtering coating can be simply understood as bombarding the target with electrons or high-energy lasers, and sputtering the surface components in the form of atomic groups or ions, and finally depositing them on the surface of the substrate, going through a film-forming process, and finally forming a thin film.

Sputtering coating is divided into many kinds, and the difference from evaporation coating is that the sputtering rate will become one of the main parameters.

For the laser sputtering coating pld in the sputtering coating, the composition uniformity is very easy to maintain, but the thickness uniformity at the atomic scale is relatively poor (because it is pulsed sputtering), and the control of the crystal orientation (outer edge) growth is also relatively general.
